Phones are becoming more and more expensive and so is the tech behind it advancing rapidly. Phones are all too common and in this sea of phones lies budget android phone.
The definition of a budget android phone varies from country to country, region to region. For example, a 250$-400$ phone is considered as a budget phone in the USA while in India, it is 150$-300$ with not much difference in specs but this is not the question. Are budget phones really worth it or do you have to make lots of compromises?
In most budget phones today, the usual specs are 3,4 GB RAM, dual optical camera even the 18:9 aspect ratio. In my case, i have found budget phones a bit underpowered and under performing for a heavy user like me.There is no uniformity in performance after some time and even the battery barely goes a day. The camera is a hit or miss in most cases with some brilliant hits and some mediocre misses in phones like Huawei Honor 6X.
Every manufacturer is trying to cramp all kinds of features within a certain price point that the end use is not refined. There is no consistency in performance. There is no refinement and proper android support and updates.
But still then, this field is moving and pudating itself at such a fast pace that even within the next 6 months to 1 year, we will see budget phones with atleast mid-range specs and performance. The mid range phone segment is where most of technology and innovations are tried and tested for further development and use in flagship phones and this tech will drop down to lower tier phones.
So for now, budget phones aren't really worth it but there is a bright future coming ahead.
